UPCC Staff & Qualifications 
 

PROGRAM DIRECTOR:

Cindi Catlin has been involved in early childhood education since 1980 and joined the Children's Center in 1982. Cindi has her Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a concentration in child development and a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education. She is currently working on a post-graduate certificate in Educational Leadership. Cindi is an adjunct faculty member in the Early Childhood Studies Department at San Antonio College. She has taught in early childhood classrooms and conducts training workshops at local, state and national conferences for administrators and teachers of young children. Cindi is the author of two books on toddler curriculum. In 2001, Cindi received "Director of the Year" from the San Antonio Association for the Education of Young Children.

TEACHING STAFF:

All teachers employed by the Children's Center are selectedon the basis of their education and experience in early childhood, rapport with children and ability to implement the curriculum and philosophy of the program. The lead teachers have or are working on 2 and 4 year degrees in child development/early childhood education and/or the equivalent. Many of the teacher associates have or are working on their Child Development Associate and/or technical certificate in early childhood education or equivalent.

TRAINING:

All staff receive at least 20 hours or more each year of ongoing training at local, state, and national conferences in child development, curriculum, assessment, guidance, leadership and other areas of professional development. Additionally, all staff are certified in Pediatric First Aid and CPR.
