Mental illness can often be managed, and individuals can live productive and purposeful lives in recovery. Learn about the hope for recovery and a holistic approach to mental illness. Learn how we all play a role in providing hope for families and individuals affected by a mental illness.

Doug Beach is President of NAMI (National Alliance for Mental Illness) San Antonio. He is a NAMI Family-to-Family instructor and leads a faith-based support group. He serves as the national Chair of NAMI FaithNet and Chair and founder of Pathways To Hope, a community-wide conference on mental health and faith. He is also a board member of Pathways to Promise, a national organization that supports the development of mental health ministries. He is the Chair of the Public Advisory Committee of the Bexar County Center for Health Care Services. He was an Elder of the First Presbyterian Church San Antonio, where he began its Mental Health Ministry, and works with others to establish mental health ministries in faith communities throughout San Antonio.
