The relationship between Naomi and Ruth is one of trust and loyalty in the face of hardship and loss. Some scholars have surmised that this book was written by a woman; regardless, it is a remarkable look at the place of women in Biblical society. Its lessons are relevant even today. Participants will read this book prior to class and discuss issues raised in the text.  Class limited to women only.

About the Instructor: For eight years, Marcia Goren Weser has taught a Women’s Torah Study class for Temple Chai, a small Reform congregation which she helped to found 12 years ago. She has studied biblical texts with Jewish and Christian clergy and considers herself a life-long learner. She is Chair of the SoL Center Board of Directors this year.
