In this one-night class participants will learn the basics of the Sikh religion, join the local community in their worship, and share a meal with them.  Sikhism is a monotheistic religion founded during the 15th century in the Punjab region of the Indian subcontinent.  Founded by Guru Nanak, it continued to progress through ten successive Sikh gurus/prophets, the eleventh and last guru being the Holy Scripture Guru Granth Sahib.  It is the fifth-largest organized religion in the world, with approximately 30 million adherents known as Sikhs, students or disciples.

About the Instructor:   Hardeep Singh earned a Bachelor in Computer Science from the University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada.  He is the interfaith representative for Sikh Dharamsal and participates in interfaith events in the City.  He is the owner of a UPS Store in San Antonio, where he lives with his wife, a physician, and two children.
