The murals of San Antonio’s west side are treasurers hidden in plain sight. Professional tour guide Bonnie Simons will take participants on a tour bus to discover these beautiful works of art. Bonnie’s extensive knowledge of these murals will help them tell a story—one of hurt and beauty, sorrow and optimism, defeat and victory—as told by generations of San Antonio’s artists. In addition to learning about these murals, participants will explore the area around the Guadalupe Plaza, which includes a historic church, a can’t-miss bakery, and more. If you love San Antonio, you will want to share in this experience!

About the Instructor: Bonnie Simons found a second career in tour guiding following a thirty year career in nursing. It is a natural fit as she has an innate love of people and a passion for her native city. Bonnie and her husband, Bill, are co-founders of Cycling San Antonio (cyclingsanantonio.com), and offer guided bicycle tours of San Antonio’s historical missions. Bonnie and Bill are both members of the Professional Tour Guide Association of San Antonio.
