Listen to the voices of ancient prophets as they addressed issues of their time. Explore their vision of the good society as they faced economic inequality, military power and the rise of Assyria. What do they have to say to us today?
Their words always point to an ideal society based on a mutual commitment between God and his people, and shaped by an ethic (“what is good”) implicit in relationship. How do Micah’s words apply to our modern world?
He has told you, O mortal, what is good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justice, and to love kindness,
And to walk humbly with your God? Micah 6:8
