The University Presbyterian Children's Center provides spiritual growth opportunities for children age 7 months - 5 years.

The University Presbyterian Children's Center is an outreach ministry of University Presbyterian Church which provides a quality early childhood program for children of the community. The atmosphere of the school is intended to communicate God's love by:

  • generating a relaxed atmosphere of openness, spontaneity, creativity, joy, and love;

  • providing an array of stimulating activities to promote aesthetic and cultural awareness, academic readiness, motor development and social skills;

  • encouraging independence, feelings of self-confidence, respect for others
    and a sense of belonging and sharing in a group;

  • offering loving support to each child and family;

  • developing spiritual growth through themes emphasizing caring for and acceptance of others, prayers at meal times, regular spiritual enrichment group times for 3's, 4's, and 5's led by the pastor Lib McGregor Simmons.

The Children's Center adheres to the Minimum Standards for Day Care Centers and is licensed by the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services. The center has been accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs since 1987 and recognized by the Ecumenical Childcare Network since 1992. In 1996, the Children's Center received national recognition by being awarded the Sarah Hill Brown Award for Excellence in Early Childhood Education by the Presbyterian School of Christian Education.
